Young children are more likely to choke than adults, because they often put small objects in their mouths that they may breathe in and get stuck. If a child or baby is choking they'll get upset quickly and you need to act fast to clear what's stuck. WebChoking can be prevented. Food accounts for over 50% of choking episodes. But, also be alert for small objects that can cause choking, such as coins, buttons, and small toys. Check under furniture and between cushions for small items that children could find and put in their mouths.
