So I've been looking for these fuses, and I've found that there are diff. amp ratings for these fuses, ranging from 1 to 10 amps.

Crackles could be a power tube. Wouldn't hurt to have a spare set of preamp/power tubes on hand for testing and/or replacement. You'll need them someday. Preamps are plug and play, power would need to be matched and require a bias (although not so much so for testing purposes).
